INTRODUCTION

HUMANOID ROBOT: NAO

NAO is an interactive companion robot. He/she can move, feel, hear, speak, see, connect, and think. In this time, we research on Human Robot Interaction which brings us interesting results. The topic is naturalness of human-robot interaction.

PROPOSAL

We proposed two problems which we can be solved by using human-robot interaction.

Problem 1 is that mentally handicapped people have a problem in social life. There is relatively less number of teachers to educate intellectual disabled.

Problem 2 is about Lab tour held in research centered university. Lab tour is held in a complicated environment like narrow space, and full of facilities and equipment.

INTERIM

We changed our topic since the robot becomes more familiar and much closer to human than before. However, still there is some kind of barrier in human and robot interaction.

Human has certain mental model about general robot which is based on the experience, stereotype and other factors.

One of biases is that robot cannot interact effectively and naturally with them as they do with human.

FINAL

We researched on common ground and gestures of human and designed experiments. NAO was programmed by me to be conducted in the experiment.
